Dr. Abeyta Achieves the FAGD Award

Dr. Abeyta is one of less than 5% of dentists nationwide to achieve the Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) award.  What does this accreditation mean in dentistry? And what does it mean for her patients?

FAGD is one of the highest awards that a dentist can receive. In fact, only about four to five dentists a year achieve this distinction!  The fellowship was instituted over 50 years ago by the Academy of General Dentistry.  It was created to honor those who recognize and accept the professional duty to remain current in the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver the highest quality of oral healthcare to their patients.

To earn the fellowship a dentist must:

  • Be an AGD member for at least three consecutive years
  • Pass a comprehensive 250 question examination
  • Earn 500 continuing dental education credits

What does all of this mean?  Patients at the best Albuquerque dentist are receiving the highest quality of comprehensive dental care available.  Dr. Abeyta and her team recognize the importance of continuing dental education.  They are committed to remaining current in the profession and to learning new techniques for the benefit of their patients and the betterment of dentistry as a whole.

Just like they are committed to ensuring the safety of their patients during COVID-19.   Did you know that dental offices are actually one of the cleanest areas that you can be in?  For a very long time, dentists have been required to adhere to very strict sanitization standards and protocols that you likely wouldn’t see other than in a hospital.  COVID-19 has only reinforced those standards even further.
