We all know that oral pain, is well painful, but did you know that if your pain lasts over 6 months you are at risk for having permanent pain?

In the short term, pain triggers our nerves to send signals to our brain.  When these signals become persistent, there are permanent changes that occur within your neurons that will continuously send pain signals to your brain.  In addition to this, the pain can spread or even become worse with the more time that you have pain.  This pain can persist even after you have treatment, becoming much like phantom limb pain.  Because of this, it is important to have your pain treated as soon as possible.
