While the percentage of people who DO floss is low, those who DO NOT floss are at a higher risk of developing PERIODONTAL (GUM) disease. Flossing once a day reduces harmful bacteria in the mouth and the rest of the body. That’s right!!! Bacteria in the mouth circulates throughout your body, from the lymphatic system to the blood that circulates to the heart. The bacteria in your mouth causes inflammation which can increase your risk for disease throughout your body. In fact, Periodontal disease and Heart Disease are related. So floss not only for your oral health but your OVERALL health. Once a day is all you need.
